Sculpt logo and identity

Sculpt is an interior architectural studio and workshop based in Birmingham. They needed a comprehensive rebrand to give them a stronger presence across all touchpoints, echoing Sculpt’s fundamental principles – reshape, redesign, refine.

The rebrand needed to better communicate their offer and distinct approach, whilst giving greater visibility across the full client journey, from promotional materials, proposals and plans, to on-site visibility and custom material samples.

Born from architectural plans, the foundation of the brand identity is the responsive ‘S’ framework that scales and adapts to any canvas, reflecting the fundamental principles of Sculpt – reshape, redesign, refine. It can be used to house, section and anchor content, or used to fit around content, but always giving the Sculpt brand a strong, constant, adaptable presence.

The Sculpt colour palette is inspired by the natural materials and finishes that Sculpt work with on a daily basis and aligned with the Fedrigoni paper range Materica.

The brand has been adapted into physical manifestations such as bespoke high vis jackets, three dimensional material samples, and even studio shelving.

Practical Action rebrands to show “how small actions can change the big picture”

NB Studio has created a new identity for Practical Action, a UK development organisation. Practical Action was established in 1966 with the aim of creating appropriate technologies for developing regions of the world. It works primarily in Eastern and Southern Africa, South Asia and Latin America. It was founded by economist and philosopher Fritz Schumacher whose book, Small is Beautiful, champions the concept that small changes can empower people more than big ones. Practical Action’s aim is to provide sustainable technologies – systems that countries can accommodate with their existing resources – instead of providing large-scale aid that cannot be easily sustained. The legacy of Life magazine’s images celebrated in new show

When Life magazine was re-launched by magazine magnate Henry Luce in 1936, the idea was to put photojournalism at the forefront and publish only photography-led stories. Readers soon became accustomed to seeing images from around the world that gave them the kind of first-hand insight they’d never previously had. At one point it was selling 13.8 million copies a week, and in its lifetime the magazine commissioned more than 120,000 stories and 10 million photographs.
